"Once Upon a Typewriter" began in Canada, in Winnipeg as a film, a long
time ago; when film was a medium, when people knew what a typewriter was,
when the National Film Board of Canada was a National Film Board of Canada.
This year, the film will be finished. Damn the torpedoes. Come
hell or high water. It's not the end of the world, and even if it
is, this film will be finished. I've died once in the making of this
project. I have nothing to lose but nothing itself. If I knew
then, what I know now, I would have made the proposal process itself, the
film. We'll see what happens this time round. The proposal
process may indeed be the story. The film, may indeed be a pre-text.
You be the judge. At the end of this sentence, in Montreal, the story
(about two letters that run away from the alphabet) and the journey to
make that story, will again
