How to download images on this site for printing:

Question:
If all of the images presented on the are just 72 dpi,
how do we make higher resolution picture?

Answer:  We make it bigger!.

Dots Per Inch (dpi)

There is a lot of confusion about dpi.  My home computer printer (Epson Stylus 740) is capable of printing at 1400 dpi. but if you at the actual number of dots per inch and COUNT THE DOTS it produces closer to 200 dots per inch.). The images on this page are 72 dpi.  If you print the pictures directly from this page the pictures will look ugly, "a chunky" poor quality computer image made of square blocks.  For beautiful printing, a  higher resolution is needed.

Click on any small image.  What you will find, is link to a big picture.
You may save the big picture on your computer.

PC Users: Position the pointer on top of the image and click the right mouse button to bring up the menu.  Move down to "Save Image As" or "Save Picture As" and click the left mouse button. Save the new image as a file on your computer.

Mac Users: Position the pointer on top of the image and hold down the mouse for several seconds. Holding the mouse button down, move down the menu to "Save Image As" and release the mouse button. Save the image as a file on your Mac.

After the picture is saved, when preparing to print this big image, be sure to reduce the printed size back down to something small again.   The smaller the printing size, the finer the detail, and the higher the resolution.  You should be able to get at least (300 dpi resolution from the large images).  All pictures on this site are made with printing in mind.
