Conclusion: For this experiment the conclusion has been written first. Still shadows make no sense, -when they are still, -when they are far away from the surface and -when the light source is not shown. Moving shadows definite depth 1) when the light source is stationary 2) when the surface is stationary and 3) with the object is moving toward impact with the surface. Why? Somehow the eye (brain), measures the comparative sizes, speeds, accelerations and directions of the object and it's shadow. I'll now try and make an animation that fits this conclusion.
